I love my dog, Annie, I really do. But other than her, I am not an animal person. It's not that I don't like them, its just that I don't adore them either. However, they seem to like me. This morning as I was walking along the scenic route to work, about 30 little white butterflies flew around me, escorting me on my way. Then when I arrived at physics, there was Dr. Kuo's cat. He was gone for several days until 5:00 this evening, so one of the TA's had been watching the little thing (Mia was her name). Mia decided to curl up in my lab and sleep for 2 hours while I tried to work on my physics lab. When Dr. Kuo finally arrived to get her, she refused to go to him and went back to sleep for another half hour in my lap. Finally I had to dump her out of my lap into his arms. After physics, on my home once again along the scenic route, there were a couple deer playing. When they saw me, they stopped and one of them decided to come over and see who I was. This one in the picture is about 8 feet away. It walked with me for a bit. Then when I stopped and called to it, it came over, danced around some, and wagged its little tail. We played for a few minutes, and then it pranced away. It was a very unusual day, but a lot of fun to see some of GOD's adorable creation up close.

GOD's Playful and Sleepy Creatures...

Animals have always been drawn to your quiet & tender personality. And you've always been drawn to them, too, whether you realize it or not! Are you sure you don't want to be a vet?! By the way, did Mia make the physics any easier to comprehend?

A deer approaching at your call, without camoflage, is truly a rare event. The only other people I know who can do that are bow hunters who wear full body camoflage and use deer scents to mask their own smell.
This really shows your softer, tender side, Honey. Taking the time to see the wonders around you is quite a blessing. You are that way with seniors too - always having time for them and to share with them. Have a great 4th - we love you, Laura. The Seniors
