E-Days...
E-Days (Engineering Days) is a huge weekend event here at CSM. It starts Thursday night with a massive firework show and ends Sunday. During this time there is a concert, a cardboard boat race, trebuchet contest, mining competition, Mr. Big Digger competition, root beer kegger, free food, ore cart pull to Denver, dance, casino night and lots of drinking games. For the RAs, E-Days means a lot of work and a lot of fun. Most of us do our shifts and then get as far away from the dorms as we can. I had both shifts Thursday night. During the first shift, I was on duty with Yule and we decided to dress up gangster for rounds. The costumes were fun and the round lasted 4 hours. As soon as we would finish one round, we would start the next. A round consists of looking around each suite, talking to residents, checking the bathrooms, checking around the building outside and looking for anything suspicious. Often the residents don't even realize we are looking around. We keep chatting with them, but our eyes are always on the move. After midnight, Yule switched off with Dana and we continued rounds until 4am. The rest of E-Days I spent at Ian's house hanging out with him and the other guys living at his house. The guys are really funny, I had an awesome, restful time. When I wasn't laughing, I was sleeping. I wasn't awake much of E-Days and it was GREAT!
